GODDESS OF THE UNDERWORLD
HISTORY
Persephone, goddess of land and agriculture in Greek mythology, was the only daughter of Zeus and Demeter. In Greek mythology she also later became known as the queen of the infernal world, she kept watch over souls and knew the secrets of darkness.
The goddess of agriculture was always concerned only with picking flowers, but she grew and with that her beauty was enchanting everyone, and enchanted the god Hades, the lord of the dead, who proposed to the goddess. However, Demeter did not want them to get married, but Hades nevertheless did not give up on the goddess and continued to pursue her. Until one day Persephone was harvesting daffodils, and suddenly Hades appeared from the earth in his chariot and took the goddess to the world of the dead.
Demeter did not conform to his daughter's situation and forced Zeus to comply with his request, it was then that he asked Hades to return his daughter. Hades did not return Persephone and even managed a plan for her to continue with him. He gave Persephone a Pomegranate, which was the fruit of marriage. As the goddess had eaten the beans, she could not leave her husband anymore, it was then that Persephone spent time with her mother and another with her husband, and became the dark Proserpina. From that moment on, every time she was with her husband it turned to winter in the land, and when she was on Olympus with her mother she became a teenager again and spring came, the green of nature brought forth many flowers and fruits. And even though it is a very complicated relationship, she lives with a lot of love with her husband Hades.
Persephone, for its beauty has always attracted many looks. It is Aphrodite's enemy because she is very beautiful. Even Zeus, his father, was attracted to his daughter and it is said that they had a son together in the form of a snake, which would be the Sabázio. Aphrodite and Persephone, in addition to being rivals for beauty, also fought for the possession of Adonis, a handsome boy who was loved by both. Persephone Faces
